Striking the egg against the rock ~ 鸡蛋碰石头

There are many times where one know that the chances of success might not be high, that competition is great, that all the hard work might have been for nothing, one still has to persist on.

But no pain, no gain, right?? In Chinese, we have a saying: When one goes up the mountains often, one is bound to meet a man-devouring tiger. Since tigers are an endangered species now, I think I would change that to: When one knocked on enough doors, there are bound to be one door that would be open.

Hangin’ there.

P/s: Thank you all, Faceless Angels, for the encouraging words to the blue blue me. I have decided to sober up and not wallow in a pitiful pathetic whirlpool anymore. A sincere Thank you for having been there, for having taken the time (perhaps at the expense of getting caught for visiting blogs during office hours…) to post those much-appreciated words of encouragement.

  1. Three cheers for the faceless angels. Every success in life is built on the dung heap of rejection. Good to recognize. Makes life easier.

  2. zara's mama says:

    perseverence pays I guess..

  3. I’m so glad for you. Now get out there and kick some butt.

  4. YL says:

simple american: Three MILLION cheers for the Faceless Angels!!!
zara’s mama: I am still not too sure whether it would pay or not. But I think I wouldn’t make a loss if I persevere. If I succeed, well and good. If I fail, well, I am sure I would have learnt something during the journey.
deliciouscharsiew: Thanks!! Trying to get somewhere to prove my worth to them!!
